Isn't it nice to talk to people to see what makes them the way they are. when we delve into the past, the present seems so much more clear. And common ground is much easier to find with someone when you speak rather than just interact in a group.
Come on Edgar...loosen up a bit! :) I'm sure I could come up with some things to say about you - whether they are true or not! I'm kidding - there's nothing wrong about being a private person.
Learning a little bit about someone and discovering common ground is nice. Points of contention can also arise and then lead to healthy debate. It is what you make of it.
I loved the interviewing process we did this afternoon. I learned so much about Bryan and Lynn. I made connections with them and I feel that I see them as more human now (not that I previously saw them as some robots roaming around me). They are more real and alive in my mind. They're not just people taking a class; they're dreamers in pursuit of their own Truth. To me, that's so cool.
That's a good point, Tanya...the difference between speaking and interacting. I would never know so much about one person if left to my own devices in the larger group setting. I think it will help us as a cohort become more brave in our writing and our questioning.
I liked the interview, also. I'm sure I wouldn't have learned as much about Ron without the expectation of the interview. I can't wait to read about each of you!
Hey Deb(s), not mucking around where you don't want mucking is one of the reasons the way I set up this writing assignment gives you quite a bit of control. Before anything is read or shared about you it needs your approval!
Seriously, I don't like people delving into my past and seeing what makes me tick - all about past delving but just not when it's me...

ReplyDeleteHey Deb, just tell the pushy paparazzi to back off.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. It was interesting so see what makes people tick.

ReplyDeleteDeb, must be a Deb thing--I'm a private person too, but if that is worth exploring . . .
