While Sherrie was reading my paper this afternoon, she touched on something that I agree with. She said that there seemed to be something underlying in my paper that I wasn't revealing. While I agree, I don't know what it is! Does anyone have strategies they use in writing to dig deeper?
Let me see your paper tomorrow. now I'm curious. But what I may think might not be what you think. Remember there are no right answers.
ReplyDeleteAfter finally making it through chapter 4 somewhere in there it said that you may not be asking the right person to read your writing. Make sure they are focused on a topic when revising. Murray says that if you do not give them a focus they could find anything randomly wrong. Let Tonya read it, but give her a purpose for reading.
ReplyDeleteHypnosis? Just kidding!
ReplyDeleteKing, in On Writing, says he has eight readers for his first draft. They come behind his first (most trusted) reader. He's ready to ignore them all (even the MTR). But, he says, if several readers have the same response, then he ignores them to his own peril.
