I will search for the book that gets students up and moving.
Centers would be a good thing. Set a timer and have the students do activities then move when the timer goes off. You can group them up or give them a schedule so that the are with different people every time.
Concerning the cake, I know Shakespeare used this word, Bestest. It does do something for me. Mmmm.... I hope tomorrow is better than the bestest, heads upon the rest(est).
Do cake decorators need good instruction? Or can they copy a page from a book onto a cookie? My hope is that we can accomplish these types of mini-lessons back in early elementary grades. YOUR a model of our society. :]
I asked my two daughters about their schooling and grammar. The oldest was concerned with the ACT. She says she needs more instruction in grammar to score higher, and she does need a higher score.
The younger and more articulate of the two said, "Grammar is like vegetables. You need them. You just don't need to know you're getting them." She went on to explain that when she was a baby, her mother and I had to "hide" her veggies in other foods.
I laughed out loud!

Cookies are overly rated. Try ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see that book, Jodi.
