Researching...

It's been awhile since I've had to do scholarly research. I forgot how frustrating and overwhelming it can be at times. BUT...I've also been reminded of its excitement and potential. Fun stuff!

  1. Same here. In reality, I've actually done very few 'formal' research projects over the years. (I must have picked the right classes!) The time to work on this here is very beneficial but I'm still waiting to find the 'excitement' in this part. I'm sure it's just around the corner.

  2. I want to ask, "How can I tell which of these resources will be useful without looking at every one of them?" And then I remember all of the students who ask the same question. Shoe 's back on my foot now (with laces untied).

  3. Having the student perspective is important for keeping us from growing too cynical when we hear nothing but whining about the things we ask them to do.

  4. The excitement is reading the articles (and deleting those that don't follow our question...one less to read!). The stress is finishing in time......
